Hidden City is a collective run by event organizers, comedians, and musicians who have been working in the DIY space in NYC for over ten years. As we've watched our city become more expensive and hostile to artists, we were inspired to grow Hidden City to help revive a scene that is affordable, diverse, and artist-friendly. We believe in the counterculture power of underground community-building to resist the corporate takeover of the city, prioritizing the power of the people over the greed of the elite through music & art. People over profit always.
Our goal is increase the number of DIY spaces and events, increase awareness about these events, create a network of organizers & artists, and to contribute to a community where we are investing directly in one another, as opposed to corporations. We're accomplishing these goals through a weekly email highlighting events & spaces, organizing our own events to promote local DIY spaces & artists, and through monthly meet-ups for DIY event organizers & venue owners.
