A weekly workshop series produced by the Poetry Society of New York
With guest instructor Joey Gould.
Writing poetry of praise is fun. And necessary. This workshop will offer an opportunity for attendees to define, both personally and collectively, what praise means through an exploration of the poetic ode.
We will investigate what praise entails—what makes it pop on the page. In this space we will look at interesting approaches to writing an ode, considering how authors use their own distinct voices to express joy, before cobbling together our own wee thank yous and shout outs. We can write ecstatic praise with our own depth, nuance, & personality.
**This workshop will take place on Zoom.**
