While the automation of religion may sound like science fiction, examples exist of physical religious robots already built and spanning most major religions. Religious robots confront us about the boundaries of personhood, and can provide insights of on the intersections of technology, spirituality, and society. In this talk, you will hear about the real world robots, and hopefully it will inspire as many new questions as it answers.
This event will be online via Zoom, and tickets will be Pay-What-You-Wish.
This class will be taught by NYC Resistor member Kari Love. She teaches a 7 week class at NYU ITP called "Considering Religious Robots" and decided to do this more informal talk after many requests from non-students.
