'The Hustle Habit' is a monthly conversation series with art world movers + makers, hosted virtually with PARADICE PALASE co-founders Kat & Lauren. Each session we invite a guest to share their experiences, stories, and more about how they got started on various projects, businesses, or side hustles.
For our December session, we'll be connecting with curator, writer and art critic M. Charlene Stevens. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Stevens received her B.A. in art history, criticism and conservation from UCLA, and subsequently studied art history, photography and film at California State University-Los Angeles and the University of Leiden in Holland. In 2016 she founded Arcade Project (@apzine), an online publication featuring exhibition reviews, artist interviews, and media criticism. During the height of this year's pandemic she launched Arcade Project Curatorial and with it hosted her first in-person exhibition, of works on paper by Kevin Darmanie with us in July!
We are very excited to reconnect virtually with Charlene and pick her brain about her move to NYC in 2012, the hustle to create her mark in the art world post-grad, and the day to day workings of her publication.
RSVP to join us Wednesday 11/18! Zoom Meeting link and details will be provided after your RSVP is submitted, and we'll send a reminder email the day of as well!
