Join us at this month's Community Verse, a PSNY initiative designed specifically by & for BIPOC creatives, with Vijay Ramanathan!
This month's Community Verse workshop is called Sacred Dreamwork Circle with Vijay Ramanathan. In Sacred Dreamwork Circle, we will explore one central image from one specific dream you had that resonates with you. We will take this dream image and use it as a prompt for a poem, primarily using active imagination techniques in the tradition of Carl Gustav Jung's lineage of dreamwork. Bring a dream from the past and continue or begin a practice of tracking your dreams in preparation for this workshop. This workshop riffs off lessons from "Sacred Dream Circles" by Tess Castleman, among other sources. This program is educational in nature and is not offered as therapy.
About the instructor: Vijay R. Nathan (He/Him) is the Head Librarian of Kristine Mann Library, a cozy, esoteric, spiritual psychology library that is in the lineage of the 20th Century historical figure Carl Jung. About the program: Curated by Lola Anaya, our Monthly Free Workshops for BIPOC Creatives—also known as our Community Verse Initiative—are workshops taught by and for Black, Indigenous, and other Persons of Color with an interest in poetry. We invite folks to connect in this safe, generative, BIPOC-centered space: to share work, experiences, and discourse. At the end of every workshop, we welcome the sharing of resources, such as literature, community events, and grants available for application. Respectfully and consensually connecting with other members outside of the space is encouraged. If you are not BIPOC-identifying, we kindly invite you to attend other PSNY events. While topics do not necessarily center around being BIPOC, this community space is designed specifically for the BIPOC experience. Attendees of our Monthly Free Workshops for BIPOC Creatives receive a 50% off discount code for our Weekly Virtual Workshops!
