Vsynth is a modular video-synthesis, image processing and vector-synthesis lab shared as a free expansion package for Max. In this 2-day workshop led by its creator Kevin Kripper we will dive into different video-synthesis techniques, video-tool design and into the world of drawing vector graphics on analogue vector displays using audio signals.
Kevin Kripper (Buenos Aires, 1991) is a generative artist whose work addresses a wide variety of topics, technologies and aesthetics. Some of these works have been exhibited and awarded at both science and art festivals. Since 2012 he has been developing digital tools that expand the creative possibilities of experimental artists from all over the world. He is currently a visiting professor at the University of Oregon.
For this hands-on workshop, you will need to bring your own computer with Max installed. We will provide you with a six-month Max license if you do not already have Max. We will email you with instructions on getting Vsynth installed prior to the workshop.
Day 1 of the workshop will introduce you to Vsynth and video synthesis.
Day 2 will explore how to use Vsynth to send audio signals to an analogue oscilloscope or vector monitor to make vector graphics.
Date: Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th
Time: 11AM to 3PM
Please Note: This is a two-day workshop. Ticket includes both days.
