Etel Adnan: In the Rhythms of the World is a three-day symposium organized by Omar Berrada and Simone Fattal to commemorate the centenary of Etel Adnan’s birth. The event features talks, poetry readings, and musical performances that explore various facets of Adnan’s literary and visual work. Contributors include Eileen Myles, Brandon Shimoda, Maaza Mengiste, Amir ElSaffar, Hamed Sinno, Lisa Robertson, Ammiel Alcalay, and Peter Gizzi. The symposium takes place from February 27 to March 1, 2025, at venues including Anthology Film Archives, The Poetry Project, and Giorno Poetry Systems. A rare screening of Adnan’s experimental film “Motion” is also part of the program. The event is free and open to the public with RSVP.
