***wow our 7 day run turned into a 16 day run and now we are truly and totally sold out! If you don't have a ticket the best I can offer you is standby, meaning if someone cancels (this has happened 2 times, like 20-40 minutes before they were supposed to show up) I will text you and be like "do you want to come over right now?!" If such a spur of the moment thing could work for you then text me at 314.467.8526 and say you want to be on the Mystery Yard standby. Thanks for all your support wow!***
Tired of regular backyards? Mowing them? Dealing with a mole or a lack of buried treasure? Wish there was a backyard that made you feel… almost too damn good? Yearning for a yard full of interactive, site specific, sound, light and video installations made by some of the finest local and national DIY artists? Well buddy, I got good news for you, I know of such a place, and for the first time ever it’s available to you, and only you, for one hour, from May 7th to 22nd.
Come cruise through and be enchanted by 7 new transcendent collaborations by 18 artists and musicians in incredibly cool locations including not one but two different treehouses, a rainbow dome, a big nest, massive 5 person hammocks, a giant seesaw, and a normal seeming office cubicle. All music, visuals, and video are being created brand new for this once in a lifetime show!
“Ah but Covid is still alive and well, I don’t really like going out” you say and I get it, me either. That’s why when you come to my yard, there’s no one else there. That’s right you buy a specific time slot on a night between the 7th and 13th, and it’s yours only. Bring your quarantine pod or come alone, either way it’s $10 a person. You get one hour of uninterpreted yard exploration.
I’m over in East Nashville, a few minutes past Jeni’s. My exact address will be provided once you buy a ticket.

Tour Route:
Giant Seesaw:
The first stop on this mystery is a pretty big swampsaw! BRAINWEIGHT provides the sloppy and gloppy tunes that are magically mixed, thanks to PARADISE MIDI alchemy, by you seesawing on the seesaw! Ride the gator and you’re a music generator!
Shed Awning:
Nashville hero SESSY (FKA Meth Dad) and notorious, visual maniac MKAV (of Mike Kluge fame) bring you Work From Ohm. A bizarre and enlightening tribute to the offices many of us left behind. Come work for Mike and Tyler at their data entry job that doesn’t play by the rules. Yes it’s the bad boy of transcription, the imp of Microsoft Excel, the beast of Google Sheets, it’s Work From Ohm.
Rainbow Dome:
Take your first ascension to the rainbow dome. Within you’ll find a room that is almost entirely bed. Let you soul be massaged by the punishingly pleasant music of MICHAEL HIX (from Nashville Ambient Ensemble) while your eyeballs are exfoliated by the video of STRANGE HANDLE and MARK EDWARD JOHNSON.
Little Treehouse:
Your second ascension! So soon after you first! Head on up to our smaller treehouse! A modest, fully railed in platform. Hear a piece of music your ears will describe as “Delicious” from SIBLINGS (a new supergroup of actual, real life, family, consisting of Texas and Florida angels Michael Parallax, Moon Lasso, and Spirit Tramp). Lighting up your night will be a glorious light show created by me, TERROR PIGEON, using gorgeous new lamps built by PARADISE MIDI and I.
Huge Hammocks:
Climb on into my massive, 5 person, triangular hammocks, but watch out, cause they’re wired to blow!!! Your mind that is ;) Famed Atlanta baby geniuses WILLIAM KENNEDY, GRAHAM ULICNY (both from Reptar) and SARAH BOHLING (from Icky Blossoms) have turned these too big too fail hangout nets into playable instruments! Your movements, tumbles, rolls, and stretches (but please don’t jump in them like they’re trampolines that’s how they break!) trigger samples and effects, allowing you create your very own serene and divine piece of music!
Big Treehouse:
Come on up to a treehouse so nice it has a front porch and stained glass windows! Inside you’ll be treated to a new ambient piece by Brooklyn sinister synth master KALMIA TRAVER (from Rubblebucket / Kabells) with accompanying video by Nashville’s own master stop motion animator / DIY music video queen Blair Tramel!
The Nest:
You know the saying, save the nest for last! Well it’s the final stop of your mysterious voyage, and it’s in a massive nest made out of tree that fell down in my neighbor’s yard. Inside you’ll find the pinnacle of outside lounging, some sweet Adirondack chairs, and a majestic song from Delaware midi controller shredder NO SIR E. Pair that with video generated by beloved Nashville ocular synthesis savant LABRYS LIGHT SHOW, and you’re getting sent off on one hell of a high note!
Dates / Times / Logistics:
There are 4-7 one hour time slots available every night for the duration of the show! There is only a 10 minute buffer in between time slots! For this reason it is imperative that you arrive exactly on time (you can always hangout in your car until the exact moment of your time slot) and absolutely leave by the end of your time slot. You truly cannot stay a moment longer as you cause a chain reaction that really fucks up everything! If you want extra time there is a late, late 1.5 hour time slot on Friday and Saturday. Otherwise if you want extra time you can always buy two back to back time slots.
You can attend alone or bring up to 5 friends you’re podded up with. 6 people max! (Right now the system is set up to only allow 5 tickets to be bought! If you want to buy a 6th just text me (You'll get my number when you buy the 5 tickets)) Tickets are $10 per person. The time slot you buy will be unavailable to anyone else even if you only buy one ticket. What this means is if you want to come with friends you need to buy tickets all at once on one debit / credit card. So you want to coordinate with your buds or just buy 5 tickets and hope your friends are cool and down!
Sunset is around 7:45. If you buy the first time slot of the night you will get the benefit of an early bedtime + hopefully the tail end of a nice little sunset, but it will still be a kinda light out until around 8. This just means slightly less bright lights but overall still a totally beautiful time and by the end it'll be regular dark.
Rainchecks:
If you a bought a ticket for the initial run (7th - 13th) your raincheck date is the following week at the same day / time (so exactly one week later) So far that's only come up for people who bought tickets for 5/9. Your new date is this Sunday the 16th.
If you're buying tickets for the bonus days and it rains I'll email you to reschedule your time!
Accessibility:
This show requires the traversing of a large yard on a big grassy hill. You’ll need to climb up and down 3 ladders to get into 2 treehouses and a dome on stilts. You’ll also need to climb into and out of big hammocks and ride a seesaw. There is also a flight of stairs that has a railing on one side. If you would like to see this show but are unable to do those things please email me at neil.fridd aaaTTTT gmail.com. Once the show is over I will consolidate the installations onto my driveway to the extent that I’m able to for you to come and enjoy them! I am truly happy to do this!
Covid Safety Shit:
- In the interest of you being truly alone I will not be present (though I am nearby if anything goes wrong!) to enforce a mask rule, but I do recommend you wear one, especially if you are not fully vaccinated yet.
- This show is almost entirely outside, with the exceptions being the Rainbow Dome and the Big Treehouse. Both of these structures have large windows / doors and will have Ozium on hand for guests to sanitize the space upon their exit. Both spaces also have alternative outside viewing / listening options.
—> The Rainbow Dome is an 8 x 10 ft structure with two 2 x 6.5 ft windows, enabling a pretty effective cross breeze. The music but not the video from the dome will be audible on the couch below the dome if you don’t feel comfortable going inside.
—> The Big Treehouse is a 5 x 9.3333 ft structure with a regular sized house door that is affixed open. There will be a TV showing the same video playing inside, outside on the porch of the treehouse, if you do not want to go inside.
- If you are feeling unwell or have been exposed to anyone who has Covid do not attend this show. I am more than happy to give refunds or reschedule.
Donations:
A part of this cool ticketing / membership platform is that it will ask you if you want to make a donation to Terror Pigeon on checkout. Just want to be clear that that money will be split between all of the artists, not just me ;) It says TP because I’m the event organizer.
Tickets:
If you're getting an error message when you try to checkout that may mean you've tried to buy a ticket for a time slot that someone else just swiped out from under you! The site should update very soon to say that slot is sold out! In the meantime try another time :)
Thank you for reading all this :) Hope to (not) see you there! ;)
