Immersive Art Tour
Enter the universe of Nirvana through sight!
Join Psychedelic Sangha for Darshan at the Rubin Museum of Art with visiting artist Tiffani Gyatso.
Attendees will enjoy a guided tour, group meditation, and thangka drawing instruction.
“Once the image enters our mind," says Tiffani Gyatso, “it has the power to guide us through our own imagination.”
Gyatso is a Brazilian-German artist who has the unique privilege of being the first foreigner to study the ancient art of thangka painting at The Norbulingka Institute in India.
“In Tibetan thangka scroll paintings” Gyatso explains, “you find archetypes of enlightenment that can be experienced in a variety of ways: peaceful, wrathful, dancing or still.”
While at the Norbulingka Institute Gyatso learned not only how these images of enlightenment are made, but how they also help support a daily practice of transforming suffering.
*Please bring your own drawing supplies and meditation cushion. Leave the rest to us!
"Darshan" is Sanskrit for “seeing.” However, it is an experience that transcends visual form and culminates in communion with the divine through art.
Our Darshans feature guided fields-trips to museums and parks, as well as pilgrimages to important psychedelic sites.
