Description
In this studio visit and artist talk, musician and sound artist Felisha Ledesma will offer insight into the sound-making process and how tools and setups shift depending on location, mood, or necessity. Drawing on experiences with artist-run spaces and projects, Ledesma will share resourceful, DIY approaches to creating and sustaining spaces that support both personal practice and collaboration.
Ledesma will walk us through the studio, reflecting on how everyday moments shape creative work. Ledesma will also explain the AMQR amplitude modulation quartet built in Max, designed to mirror the workflows of analog modular synthesis. This software-based approach shows us how complex synthesis doesn’t have to rely on traditional, costly hardware.
The session will include a studio tour, live demonstrations of Ledesma’s sound practice, and time for questions. Participants will gain insight into cultivating a sustainable, adaptive creative practice that responds to constraints and the surprises that come from simply showing up to make work.
Please note: ticket registration closes 30 minutes before class start time.
