Join us in Mill Valley for an afternoon of great conversation on the form, function, and history of blotter art with host Jay Blakesberg and special guest Mark McCloud.

Known colloquially as the "Institute of Illegal Images," Mr. McCloud's collection of blotter art is the most comprehensive archive in the world. As such, it has been the target of two criminal trials in which McCloud was forced to defend his liberty against charges of conspiracy. And in so doing not only exonerated himself, but helped to establish blotter as a recognized art form.

Attendees can expect great conversation, live music, meditation, snacks, and drinks. There will also be blotter art on display and for sale.

Proceeds from sales help support psychedelic integration and harm reduction.

BLOTTER is organized by Psychedelic Sangha and the Blotter Art Project which aims to raise awareness and appreciation for blotter art through public talks and direct encounters with blotter art. Learn more here.

Jay Blakesberg is a San Francisco-based photographer, filmmaker and public speaker. He has photographed many musical artists, including the Grateful Dead, BB King, Phish, Radiohead, Tom Petty, Tom Waits, Neil Young and Carlos Santana to name just a few. His photography has been included in over 200 CD packages, 100’s of magazines worldwide, and he has published fifteen coffee table books of his music photography.
