The Chex Quests - Game of the Month Club

New York, New York
$6.63 - $9.79 (includes all fees)

The cult classic PC game Chex Quest is nothing if not an oddity. Produced in 1996 and distributed in boxes of Chex cereal, Chex Quest has become one of the most popular standalone Doom total conversion mods ever created. Its immediate success took developers Digital Cafe by surprise, spawning a free-to-download sequel in 1997. A third entry in the series was released in 2008 as a ZDoom WAD; this final episode, along with the first 2, received an official re-release in May of 2019. The game's cutesy, cartoony graphics, goofy music and sound effects, and regulation-compliant "non-violent" gameplay have had a significant impact in the Doom modding scene, and the aesthetic influence can be seen to this day in mods like Gloom Busters and The Adventures of Square.

Noted cereal enthusiasts Karl Hohn and Ethan Beach will be presenting on the historical and personal significance of this truly landmark piece of advertainment.
