Here's Lookin' At You, Kid: Poetry + Pop Culture

Part of the weekly Milk Press Virtual Workshop series, produced by the Poetry Society of New York.

With guest instructor Lauren Milici.

We’ll look at the ways we can incorporate everything from movie quotes to song lyrics in a poem, and how the line can function as both an anchor and a non-sequitur. Poetry doesn’t have to echo the classics or follow tradition: it can be about your favorite movie or TV show or Taylor Swift song.

Lauren Milici is a poet and entertainment writer currently based in the Midwest. She currently writes for GamesRadar+, Total Film, and SFX Magazine. Her first collection of poetry, "FINAL GIRL," sold out of print. Her second collection, "Sad Sexy Catholic," is forthcoming in 2023.

**This workshop will take place on Zoom.**
