Description
This Supporter Session covers how warping works in Ableton Live, from import to final adjustments. Led by resident teaching artist Kate Siefker, we’ll explore warping in Simpler, Arrangement View, the Clip Edit window, and how Live interprets audio timing.
Topics include warp markers, transient detection, and the different warp modes: Beats, Tones, Texture, Re-Pitch, Complex, and Complex Pro. We will look at how each mode affects timing, pitch, and playback, as well as how to adjust warping settings for different types of audio.
There will also be a focus on manual warping, including how to set and move warp markers, align audio to the grid, and stretch or compress sections of a clip without affecting the rest.
The session will include demonstrations of these techniques in different musical contexts, from working with loops and samples to full tracks and recordings. There will also be a short interactive section where participants can experiment with a provided audio clip, followed by time for questions at the end.
Basic knowledge of Ableton Live is recommended.
Please note: ticket registration closes at 9am on Nov 12th.
