Trauma-informed Facilitation

Toronto, Ontario
$43.57 - $64.68 (includes all fees)

Trauma-informed Facilitation

You’re facilitating a workshop and the energy of the room becomes highly anxious. Or maybe someone discloses a trauma they experienced in the youth group you facilitate, and you aren’t sure how to address it. Maybe you’re facilitating a conversation about white supremacy with white people and the room suddenly gets filled with shame and the conversation gets derailed. These are all common scenarios that happen in group work.

In this workshop, we will learn how to build more safety and learn practical somatic tools to bring groups back to baseline. We will learn about the neurophysiology of trauma including the fight/flight/freeze responses and the window of tolerance. We will learn how these concepts can be used to understand our own nervous systems as facilitators as well as the collective nervous system of the group.

Wed June 12, 2019
5:30pm – 9:00pm

$60 for people attending through their workplace
$40 for people who are not affiliated with an agency
PWYC spots available, please email info@bricks-glitter.com

All of the money raised goes towards Bricks and Glitter, so please pay the highest you can on the scale.

Please note: This workshop is not an intro to facilitation and assumes that participants have a pre-existing knowledge of facilitation and little to no trauma training. This workshop is for facilitators, not therapists.
