We are sad to inform everyone that we’re being reno-evicted from our unit in the basement, as our landlord is taking back possession of the space on October 31st, 2020.

We might be saying farewell to our first physical space but are already on the look for another unit! We have underutilized our space for 7 months now, and don’t anticipate using it over the winter more than we currently do. Because of this, we are putting off signing a new lease in the mall until Spring 2021.

We are hosting a town hall on Monday, October 26 from 7-830pm EST to inform our friends, with friends, and talk about:
- Moving options
- Incorporating as a not-for-profit Co-Op?
- Future programming
- Needs of the community
- On-boarding more capacity to the team

We’re immensely grateful for the financial reciprocity we receive from members who value our work and support us towards sustainably covering Tea Base’s operational costs. Temporarily without rent (a majority of our costs), we will redistribute money to local mutual aid groups, invest in ambitious and bigger virtual programming activities, base build organizational infrastructure, and create care packages for our community ~

Change is inevitable but we’re excited to transition and adapt through a framework of self determined interdependency, collective care, and a continuous commitment to activate our relationships and our communities .

BACK IN 5 gathers the works of Arezu Salamzadeh, Christie Carrière, and Florence Yee to explore the tenderness of uncertainty and change. Between the transitions happening across local communities and global crises, we carve out a time to collect ourselves for the future.

This is an opportunity for friends of Tea Base to visit and say goodbye to our first physical space one last time, as we are being reno-evicted by October 31, 2020.

1-2 person appointments (masked & distanced) will be available in designated time slots, booked online from Monday October 19 - Thursday October 29.
