Perfect for beginners, this 3-hour session will immerse you in the fundamentals of DJing, with a focus on Electronic Dance Music. In the first half, you'll get an insider's look at professional DJ equipment and learn essential techniques like beatmatching, mixing, and EQing. The second half is all about hands-on practice—step up to the decks and create your first mix under expert guidance. Whether you're aspiring to perform live or just want to explore a new hobby, this workshop will give you the skills and confidence to start your DJ journey.

Requirements:
- Laptop with Serato DJ Lite installed (https://serato.com/dj/lite)
---- Note: Serato Lite is user friendly and has a free version that contains all the tools needed to DJ. However, almost all DJ software is roughly the same so if you already have another software you are familiar with, all of the skills in this course translate easily.
- Headphones

Recommended but not Required:
-Compatible DJ controller

About the Instructor: Portland based musician and artist Bryce Bresnan has a wide breadth of experience in both academic and professional music. While earning a degree in Electronic and Experimental Music Composition from New College of Florida, Bryce’s EDM project Coyote Kisses began to gain traction. Coyote Kisses has performed at countless venues internationally, including Coachella, EDC Vegas, and Shambhala music festivals and has been featured on both Sony and Atlantic records.
