In this workshop, you will get a brief introduction to image-text / multimedia poetry. We will interact with and discuss a range of forms including cinepoetry and collage, looking at examples from established and emerging writers. How can incorporating visual elements enhance the intended impact of a poem? What questions can help guide you through the image-text creative process? There will be also be time to free write and share work.
About the Instructor: Emma Sheinbaum is Co-Founding Editor of the genreless literary journal, A Velvet Giant. Her essays, video-essays/cine-poetry, and poems are published by Milk Press, TriQuarterly, Metatron Press, Juked, Cherub Magazine, The InQueery, and Glass Mountain, among others. Emma also has an essay forthcoming in Cobra Milk. The Poetry Society of New York and The Sundress Academy for the Arts have awarded her writing residencies.
