Workshop Series for Event Organizers

Creating Intentional Spaces: (Re)building and (Re)imagining conversations around consent.

Participants within this workshop will explore how to create intentional spaces within organizing that take into account ways in which to build consent culture. What does that mean? We will be talking about ways to intervene if we witness harm that exist outside of punitive measures, explore possibilities of safety team(s) & participants will have the opportunity to design a work plan in which they can effectively implement for their respective spaces.

Yamikani (Yami) Msosa ( she/her, they/them) has over 10 years of experience as a public educator & organizer within the anti-sexual violence movement. She had led trainings on sexual violence, consent, community accountability, hypersexualization of black bodies and more. She is the past vice-chair of the Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres & currently facilitates healing centre yoga classes for survivors/those impacted by sexual violence.
