We’re honoring 15yrs of Leaving Records with Los Angeles’ own legendary institution for the esoteric, the Philosophical Research Society!

On Sunday evening we’re transforming the Philosophical Research Society into a one-night-only spectacle to celebrate 15 years of our Leaving Records family that is not to be missed!! The living legend Nico Georis is visiting us from Death Valley to play selections from his records Cloud Suites, Desert Mirror, and more on both the PRS’ early 1900s baby grand piano and his own collection of synthesizers. LA’s preeminent bassist + synthesist The Growth Eternal has arranged a very potent quartet of friends (including a mystery plant) to play tribute to John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme in its entirety with the addition of an excerpt from poet Askia M. Touré’s “From the Pyramids to the Projects: Poems of Genocide and Resistance.”

Celia Hollander weaves the night together through the art of the crossfade & Lachlan will no longer be joining us due to a personal conflict but we'll have a presentation of his art available!

Hot tea will be available in the lobby and this gathering will be taking place indoors within the PRS’s 1950’s auditorium. The courtyard & bookstore will remain open through the night for the seekers in all of us.
