Intro To Rekordbox With HD

Brooklyn, New York
Free - $106.92

We’re hosting an intro to rekordbox workshop on April 26th with nyc-based dj & producer HD. This workshop is a beginner-friendly session where we’ll break down the basics of the software most djs use, plus how to actually get your music onto a usb and ready for CDJS. Rekordbox is a DJs best friend and worst nightmare and is used by working DJs across the world. In addition to a guided live demo of basic features of the program, we'll explore how and why Pioneer DJ is so ubiquitous and jump into open dialogue on the basics of USB DJing.

We’ll talk through what Rekordbox actually is, how it fits into DJing today, and why Pioneer gear has become the standard in clubs around the world. There’ll also be a quick look at the history of CDJs to give some context. From there, we’ll get into the practical side—understanding the difference between Export Mode and Performance Mode, how to organize your music library, and how to prep a USB from start to finish so it’s ready to plug into a controller or CDJs. We’ll also touch on the cost of Rekordbox and some alternative options.

You don’t need any prior DJ experience to join. By the end, you’ll have a clear understanding of how Rekordbox works, how to access it for free, and how to move from your laptop to playing on actual DJ equipment. The idea is to give you a solid foundation so you can keep practicing and figuring things out on your own, even without regular access to gear.
