During Khalid Thompson’s solo exhibition, Rhizome DC will be hosting #ancestralspark, the artist’s improvisational live painting performance with Richmond, VA based sound healer Julian Jamal Payne. Come and participate in the multi sensory experience of spontaneous combustions of color and sound.
Khalid Thompson’s art is the spontaneous application of color and mixed media designed to emphasize free expression. Using intuition, he manifests a broad spectrum of abstraction that suggests relationships to jazz, nature, the African Diaspora and African culture.
