MOTHS // Modular On The (Human) Spot:
Movement to Modular Synthesis
/// A moving meditation gently and loosely guided through the length of a live modular performance. A feedback loop of sound and human experience, a resonance of presence, an embodied listening dance communion. ///
This audience-interactive event is an experiment in interdisciplinary improvisation. MOT(H)S will be one hour long, featuring a full-duration improvised modular synth performance from Limanjaya alongside a physical improvisation/meditative movement/dance by attendees co-facilitated by Dasha Shleyeva and Wilder Rose.
-- PHYSICAL PARTICIPATION FROM THOSE ATTENDING IS EXPECTED. --
/// PHYSICAL INTERACTION BETWEEN ATTENDEES IS NOT EXPECTED BUT ALLOWED. ANY PHYSICAL INTERACTIONS BETWEEN ATTENDEES STRICTLY REQUIRES PRIOR EXPLICIT CONSENT FROM BOTH PARTIES. ///
Small venue capacity means tickets are limited.
*Because this event has a physical relationship to modular synthesis as its focus, with human movement at its core, there will only be a small subset of tickets open to those intending on stationary listening. Thank you for understanding the limited capacity as we endeavor to draw analogs between sound and body expression. If there is sufficient interest in this event we intend to do it again with a venue that can accommodate all dancers and listeners alike.
