In this workshop, we will use various sources and microphones to explore the resonances of our surroundings through feedback loops. Resident teaching artist, Kate Siefker, will cover the primary categories of microphones and their applications, as well as what contributes to timbre and frequency response.

We will experiment with resonances created from various objects and spaces, and record their harmonics using a microphone. The recordings will then be processed using Ableton Live to create interesting fodder for sound design and electronic music production.

This workshop is suitable for those with basic knowledge of Ableton Live.
