SUNDAY SIT:
Dharma Music and Songs to Inspire
1PM EST / online
With Riverstone L.M.S.W.
Recharge your practice with Dharma music and songs every Sunday at 1 p.m. (online). This month, we are delving into the erotic poetry of one of Buddhism’s most rebellious and controversial artists, Tsangyang Gyatso,
the Sixth Dalai Lama.
Tsangyang Gyatso (1683-1706) was ordained as a novice monk. However, he refused full ordination and eventually returned his monastic vows in exchange for a life of unbridled passion. Unlike any other Dalai Lama before or after him, Tsangyang was notorious for his flamboyant dress, public drinking of alcohol, frequent visits to brothels, and love poems.
"The cuckoo bird from the land of Mon brings rain,
It descends from the sky
It brings blessings to the earth.
Life grows and blossoms.
When the cuckoo bird comes from Mon
My lover and I join as one
In body, heart and mind."
Each week, Psychedelic Sangha facilitator Riverstone will set new verses to music and guide you through an immersive dharma art experience online in Zoom.
Whether you prefer to sit back and enjoy the sounds or add your own voice and music to the mix, our event is designed to keep you engaged and involved.
Donations welcome, RSVP for Zoom link.
