SOUL SKA

Friday January 31st @ Mystic Theatre

with support from The Happys & Epicenter Sound

-

Soul Ska stands alone atop the Bay Area

Ska/Rocksteady scene. Formed in 2014 by members of

veteran Bay Area bands such as Vinyl, Monophonics,

Albino!, Stymie & the Pimp Jones Love Orchestra and

more - the high-energy, diverse 10-piece group combines

elements of the Jamaican 1st wave and UK 2nd wave into

their own unique sound.

Having built a loyal Bay Area fan base over the last

5 years - Soul Ska now plays to capacity crowds all over

the Bay and NorCal. Their 2018 debut album

"Propaganda" (prod. David Simon Baker) was released to

rave reviews. The 2019 single "Lover's Melody" (eng. Kelly

Finnegan) featured Jamaican music legend and

"Godfather of Ska" Ernest Ranglin on guitar. Vocalist

Angelo Moore (Fishbone) has become a frequent guest at

Soul Ska shows – also collaborating on the single “Mash

‘Em Smash ‘Em” to be released in the Spring of 2020.

Soul Ska has supported bands such as The English

Beat, Don Carlos, Yellowman, Black Uhuru, Fishbone,

Third World, Israel Vibes, Capleton and more. The band

has also been a featured act at Sierra Nevada World

Music Festival, Humboldt's Summer Music & Arts Fest,

Ocean Beach Fest and will join NYC ska legends The

Slackers for a West Coast tour this Dec 5-8 with dates in

San Diego (Music Box) , LA (Regent Theater), Berkeley

(UC Theatre) and in Santa Cruz (Catalyst).
