This ticket is a buy-in fee for an exclusive meat share in collaboration with Local Foods. The June 10th meat share will be a whole purebred berkshire hog from Avrom Farm in Green Lake Wisconsin. Using nose to tail butchery to break down this sustainably raised hog will yield pork chops, gorgeous cuts of shoulder for smoking, boneless shoulder for stewing, ground pork, thick cuts of pork belly, and more!
This whole hog share is an eight-way split, with each share buyer receiving about 20 pounds of meat and bones - enough to stock your freezer and leave you with a few cuts to throw right on the grill. All cuts are portioned to feed 2-4 people, and they are wrapped and ready for the freezer.
This ticket gives you access to your share of meat at the below retail price of $5.42/per pound. You will be charged on the exact weight of your share by Local Foods on the pick-up day. Including the buy-in cost, the total per pound price is to about $7.45 per pound.
The ticket is also good for one Share Owner's Guide to recognizing, cooking, freezing, and thawing the cuts in the share, so you can get the most out of your share with confidence!
Contact-free pickup will be available at Local Foods on Wednesday, June 10th and throughout that week, during their business hours. Ticket holders will be charged for their share of the meat by Local Foods on Wednesday, June 10th.
