This hands-on workshop will cover the basics of how to build synthesizers and audio effects using the popular and versatile Max/MSP software. We will also discuss ways to use Max, such as interfacing with the DAW, with hardware, or in live performance. No experience with Max or computer programming is required.

Please arrive at the class having installed either Max for Live or the standalone Max, version 8 or higher. There will not be time in the class for installation. The synth library has Max for live licenses available for participants, which require the Standard edition of Ableton Live, and a free trial of Max is available as well. I’m happy to answer questions about installation
