HO+MEPort

Kingston, New York
Free

The Hudson River Maritime Museum, SS Columbia Project and the Good Work Institute invite the public to experience HO+MEPORT, a party celebrating the Eighth Annual O+ Kingston Friday, Oct. 6 from 5-10 p.m. at the museum and aboard the Pennsylvania Railroad Barge No. 399 aka the Pennsy 399 along the historic Rondout waterfront.

Tour the museum’s many maritime history exhibits including “The Modeler’s Craft” (new for 2017) and hop aboard the Pennsy 399 to experience “The People’s Boat,” an exhibit that showcases the 115-year-old Columbia and chronicles the history of the great tradition of day excursion boats in New York State.

Watch O+ Kingston artist The Art of Matthew Pleva make a large-scale mural depicting the Rondout Lighthouse at the maritime museum’s Riverport Wooden Boat School, which will also be providing demonstrations and hands-on activities. Then relax with dinner and drinks in our beer garden while listening to music and striking your best photobooth pose.

Speakers and attendees of the Good Work Institute’s HO+ME Economic Conference at O+ will be part of the evening’s HO+MECOMING celebration.

HO+ME is the theme of the eighth annual O+ Kingston, a 3-day citywide festival of art, music and wellness that includes nearly 60 bands, 20+ artists, cycling events, Wellness EXPO+, classes in yoga, dance and meditation, Literary SALO+N and the conference. O+ volunteers will have all-access festival wristbands available for a donation at HO+MEPORT.

The party’s beverage partners include Sierra Nevada beer, Archer Roose wine, Guayakí Yerba Mate and Revive Kombucha.
