Each year, the physical films B & T present get older and older. For this screening they have film stock that's from 38 to 59 years old. Audiences for these screenings are about the age B & T were when they started projecting and collecting.
Are these films older than you?

Tonight's youngest film "Let's Give Kitty a Bath" is from 1986. You'll notice from the title, it's quite mature. All the animal actors in this film should've been up for Academy awards.

from the very serious year of 1981: Peter Rose's "The Man Who Could Not See Far Enough", a film about bridges (time) and solar eclipses (visual understanding). Ornette Coleman soundtrack.

also from '81: "The Sweater" a sweet, self-reflective narrative from Canada about heroes, embarrassment, and how a swarm of moths could save the day. Animation.

"Pysanka: the Ukrainian Easter Egg" from 1977 is a delicate and beautiful documentary about traditional egg painting. This film will win you over.

from way back in 1970, "Frederick". At first, Frederick seems like a cliched cautionary tale. But alas! This mouse has inspiration to feed the mind.

"Snow" from 1969. What's the proper British response to a rare winter storm?: An amazing short form documentary. with a rollicking soundtrack by Sandy Nelson.

Our oldest film tonight is from 1964: "the Unanswered Question". man-on-the-street interviewer/director, David Hoffman, stymies Americans with one simple question: What is Brotherhood?
