This interactive workshop guides participants through a re-working of conventional sex education. After an overview of the history of sex education in the United States, the group will identify the ways in which these conventional models still impact us today. We will discover nuances within the normalized ideologies we have been taught. Guided Q&A discussions will “fill in the blanks” of our sex ed experience - answering the question “What do you wish you learned?”. We will also be brainstorming tangible ways to combat shame, and actively promote an inclusive and sexually healthier community. By increasing knowledge on the past and present, participants will leave with a better awareness of what they can do to manifest a better future.
This event is free and open to the public.
Goodie bags, zines, stickers, and other merch will be available for purchase at the end, so you can take the workshop home with you!
