It's time to levitate the Pentagon (again)!

On the 21st of October, 1967, Allen Ginsberg, Abbie Hoffman, Gary Snyder, Ed Sanders (and the Fugs), along with others (including Kenneth Anger), attempted to levitate the Pentagon to exorcise it of its evil possession. The event was both political theater and tantric alchemical magic.

Join us on Sunday, November 2nd (Día de Muertos, Day of the Dead) at Sparrow Funeral Home in Brooklyn for an evening of live poetry, music, and meditation.

The legendary Anne Waldman and Zoe Brezsny will perform Allen Ginsberg's "Pentagon Exorcism," along with several other poems, with musical accompaniment by vibraphonist Chris Dingman and keyboardist KENDRAPLEX, and alchemical ecstatic dance by Fannnsystem.

Chance operator Jesse Jarnow will be flooding the space with drone music and Cagean sounds, while artist Clau Zerez paints the walls with light art.

Doors open at 6 pm with a pre-show set by Jonah Sollins Devlin and Jesse Jarnow.

Attendees are also welcome to drop in on Daphne Mac's death salon in the adjacent room at Sparrow.

A Death Salon is an open, informal gathering to talk about death and dying in a safe, welcoming space. There’s no agenda & no pressure to share.

Meditation, music, and poetry start at 7 pm.
