Synopsis
Amidst the turmoil of Los Angeles’ Skid Row, a tireless community leader and her volunteers work to feed the hungry and provide support to the unhoused. Their rhythmic labor is an explosion of active empathy in a seemingly impossible situation. This mesmerizing documentary illuminates the joy and determination of Maxine Sealey and the network surrounding her aid group: Sharing Love With Others. "Empathic Flavors" is a super sonic hug of vivacious mutual aid energy, it’s window into the determined heart of Maxine Sealey, and a bombastic musical lionization of her work by the band BabaJenkins.
