Cartoon Carnival #97: Out to Sea
at The City Reliquary
It's time for more 16mm (no digital!) animated cartoons from the 1920s through the 1940s, straight from the Stathes Archives—screened *in person* in The City Reliquary's lovely Williamsburg, Brooklyn backyard!
For program #97, our nearly two hours of animated fun pay homage to the end of the summer season, with a last-minute sea-going travel & adventure theme. This selection of animated boating, sailing, swimming (or sinking!) and shipping antics features a wide array of Cartoon Carnival mainstays...from silent era superstars Farmer Alfalfa, Felix the Cat and Alice, to later Golden Age favorites such as Bimbo, Popeye, Little Audrey, and many others.
Be sure to bring all your family and friends out for this much-anticipated opportunity to see these classic and now-rare cartoons the way they were meant to be seen—projected on 'reel' film, and enjoyed with a physical audience!
The City Reliquary will have bar refreshments available, and you may also BYO food. Please support the venue for all drinks consumed. Cash only.
