Bruce L. Moon is a singer-songwriter, active painter, author, and performance artist. He has recorded a number of CDs and performs regularly at small concert venues and bars. He has been playing guitar and writing music since the mid 1960s. In the early 70s he supported his "college habit" by playing as one half of the duo, B.T. Noah at coffeehouses and small colleges in Ohio and Indiana. In the 80s he was part of another duo, Laughter and Hard Times that played in bars, restaurants and music festivals in and around Columbus, Ohio. For the last 20 years he has performed solo in a number of settings, including WVIA public radio in Scranton, PA, street parties in Savannah, and San Antonio, and a coffeehouse in Seattle.

Bruce holds a PhD in creative arts from the Union Institute in Cincinnati, a Masters degree in Education, a Masters of Divinity, and a Bachelor's in art education. He is professor emeritus of art therapy, and past chair of the art therapy department and director of the graduate art therapy program at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee. He worked for 22 years as an art therapist at

a private psychiatric hospital in Columbus before becoming an academic. He is the author of 12 books widely used throughout the United States and Canada including Existential Art Therapy: The Canvas Mirror, and Art-Based Group Psychotherapy: Theory and Practice. He has presented papers, workshops, and performance art events throughout the United States, Canada and Asia.

Bruce was the 2007 recipient of the Honorary Life Member Award (HLM) of the American Art Therapy Association and the 2009 recipient of the Buckeye Art Therapy Association HLM. These are the highest honor granted by the AATA and BATA, and the only awards that are voted on by the entire professional memberships. He is the co-founder of the Professional Doctorate in Art Therapy program at Mount Mary University.
