Join us for Open Channels, Synth Library Portland's twist on a monthly open mic for our local electronic music community.

The mixer channels are open—bring some gear and share your sounds, or just come to see what happens. This monthly gathering is for electronic musicians of all experience levels to connect, experiment, and share with the community. Our goal is to lower the barrier to entry and bridge the gap between performer and audience. It's perfect for new musicians or experienced musicians looking to simply try out new material and techniques in a low-stakes environment.

Sign up for a 15 minute slot to perform with any electronic instrument you choose. Folks are also welcome to play in groups up to three. Synth Library staff will be onsite to assist. All slots are determined on a first-come, first-serve basis and you are not able to sign up ahead of time, so come at the beginning if you want a sure shot of playing. Signup begins at 3:30 pm when the event starts and will continue until slots are taken. The last performance must end at 5:30 pm in order to break down the equipment and clear out in time for mall closure at 6 pm.

We will have a modular synth pre-patched and a Moog synth ready to play if you don't have gear to bring. If your setup needs more than two mono 1/4" inputs you can borrow a small 6 channel submixer for your set.

This event is open to all ages. Signup is voluntary; you are welcome to come and just watch or support friends. We hope you join us and make some noise!

Synth Library Portland is providing the gathering space and sponsoring this free event. No membership is required to attend, though we hope you consider joining our diverse crew of creatives. RSVP is encouraged but not required, though this does not affect whether you have a timeslot performing (all performance slots are first-come, first served).
