Poetry is the art of observation. In this workshop we will be using images and description of images to allow the poem to shape itself by taking the subjects apart and examining them closely in order to find the deeper, hidden meanings. We will refer to this method as "working the subject". Even when the subject might be clear, there's usually a deeper meaning at work. One may ask, how many perspectives can one image hold? By using descriptive text only, the poem will express the subject leaving enough room for the reader to breathe their own interpretation into the work through image and observation alone.
