This ticket is a buy-in fee for an exclusive meat share in collaboration with Local Foods. The Monday, March 1st meat share will be a whole lamb from Kilgus Farmstead in Fairbury, Illinois. Using nose to tail butchery to break down this sustainably raised lamb will yield rack of lamb, gorgeous cuts of shoulder for roasting or braising, boneless shoulder for stewing, ground lamb, boneless leg of lamb, and more!
This whole lamb will be split into four half shares, with each share buyer receiving about 8-10 pounds of meat - enough to stock your freezer and leave you with a few cuts to throw right on the grill. All cuts are portioned to feed 2-4 people, and they are wrapped and ready for the freezer.
This ticket gives you access to your share of meat at the below retail price of $10.94 per pound. You will be charged on the exact weight of your share by Local Foods on the pick-up day. Including the buy-in cost, the total per pound price comes to about $13.44 per pound.
The ticket is also good for one Share Owner's Guide to recognizing, cooking, freezing, and thawing the cuts in the share, so you can get the most out of your share with confidence!
Contact-free pickup will be available at Local Foods on Monday, March 1st and throughout that week, during their business hours. Ticket holders will be charged for their share of the meat by Local Foods on Monday, March 1st.
