Composer, improviser, and percussionist ADAM RUDOLPH has been hailed as “a pioneer in World music” by the NY Times and “a master percussionist” by Musician magazine.
Rudolph grew up in the South Side of Chicago among jazz and blues musicians.In 1988 he met jazz musician Yusef Lateef, and the two would go on to collaborate and perform together for the next 25 years. In 1992 Rudolph helped found the band Adam Rudolph’s Moving Pictures, “a malleable group of improvisers“, as Jazz Times described it. He has been the artistic director of and composer for Hu: Vibrational with Hamid Drake, Vashti International Percussion Ensemble and Go: Organic Orchestra. He has performed as half of the Wildflowers Duo with Butoh dance innovator Oguri.
Rudolph has released several albums as leader and has also recorded with musicians Sam Rivers, Omar Sosa, Wadada Leo Smith, Pharoah Sanders, Bill Laswell, Herbie Hancock, Foday Musa Suso, and Shadowfax.

Acclaimed composer and instrumentalist KAORU WATANABE'S work is grounded in traditional Japanese music while imbued with jazz, improvisation, and experimental music elements. His signature skill of merging the music, literature, and aesthetic philosophies of Japan with disparate styles and mediums has made him a much-in-demand collaborator working with such iconic artists as André 3000, Yo-Yo Ma, Wes Anderson, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Laurie Anderson, Jason Moran, and Japanese National Living Treasure Bando Tamasaburo. A trained jazz musician, he became the first American to become a performer and artistic director of the ground-breaking Japanese taiko performing arts ensemble Kodo. In 2024, Watanabe launched Bloodlines Interwoven, a multifaceted commissioning project, festival, and ensemble celebrating heritage, immigration, and diaspora through music, cuisine, and storytelling.

ALEXIS MARCELO is a New York City-based pianist whose musical journey began with classical training at the Harlem School of the Arts. As a Black Latino artist Alexis was highly influenced by the vibrant musical landscape of New York in the 80’s and 90’s.
Alexis holds a bachelor’s degree in African-American Music/Jazz Piano from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he studied composition and improvisation with Dr. Yusef Lateef. Alexis applies Dr. Lateef’s concepts of autophysiopsychic- a distinctive approach that emphasizes deep listening and the creation of musical ideas rooted in harmony with one’s surroundings and oneself.
Alexis has performed extensively across Europe and the United States, collaborating with artists such as James Brandon Lewis at the Paris Philharmonic, Craig Harris and David Murray at Wesleyan University, and Yusef Lateef at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Alexis has also performed with the GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan, Abiodun Oyewole of the Last Poets, and Malcolm Mooney of CAN.
Alexis released a record titled Nananom Xu in 2024, featuring JD Parran and Daniel Carter, and a record with his hip-hop/improvised music duo group with drummer Will Glass called Lexiglass.
