Anatomy of a Scene: Making The Tuba Thieves
with Alison O'Daniel and creative collaborators
Join Shadow Kitchen this September as we host visual artist and filmmaker Alison O’Daniel and creative collaborators for a behind-the-scenes look at the making of The Tuba Thieves, O'Daniel's breakout debut feature that premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.
At Shadow Kitchen, we’ll discuss The Tuba Thieves not only as a film, but as a love letter to Los Angeles, a rallying cry for inclusive cinema, and the culmination of a decade-long collaborative project. Looking at never-before-screened scenes and clips exploring the filmmaking process, Alison and crew members from the production of The Tuba Thieves will take us through the anatomy of a scene and a discussion about access, collective creativity, and what it means to create a project about listening.
This event will be presented with ASL interpretation.
