Me and White Supremacy Circle Way Workshop

Free

DESCRIPTION
The "Me and White Supremacy" Circle Way Workshop is based on the journaling exercise created by activist and author Layla F. Saad. The workshop provides daily prompts that invite all people who benefit either directly or indirectly from white privilege to do the honest and vulnerable work of recognizing, addressing, and ultimately dismantling the system of White Supremacy. We do this by understanding our own internalized white supremacy, the ways we have been complicit in this system of oppression, and how we can move forward in order to be better humans and allies, and contribute positively to the cause of freedom and justice for all living beings.

SCHEDULE
The workshop will meet once a week online, Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Eastern Time. It will run from October 13th through December 22nd.

COST
Participation is free, but you will need to have a copy of the book "Me and White Supremacy" by Layla Saad.

REGISTRATION
RSVP to secure your spot. Space is limited, as the process works best in small groups, but if there is enough interest we will consider adding additional groups.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Three Merians is an attorney, activist, and co-conspirator with a background in organizing, psychology, gender studies, and yoga and meditation practices. Answering the call from BIPOC to "gather" other white people and help them through the process of facing and dismantling their internalized racism, Three's role is to create and hold the space for participants to do this work as honestly and fruitfully as possible so they can join the righteous fight to get all of us free.
