Join us for this 3-part series of workshops devoted to the art of traditional Bulgarian vocal music.

Orfeia Vocal Ensemble is partnering with Rhizome for a special music workshop for children and adults -- all ages welcome. Students will learn songs and stories from Bulgaria and other parts of Eastern Europe in this fun and educational program. No singing experience is necessary.

The workshop will be taught by Tatiana Sarbinska and members of Orfeia Vocal Ensemble.

People of all backgrounds are captivated by the unique harmonies, ornamentation, and rhythms of Balkan music - and the stories behind the songs are just as fun. The program includes three rehearsals and a public performance.

Orfeia is a non-profit vocal ensemble dedicated to preserving and sharing the amazing traditional music of Bulgaria and other parts of the Balkans through performance, teaching, and workshops. Orfeia is grateful to receive funds from Maryland Council Maryland State Arts Council.

Cost for the series:
-$50 individual
-$75 for family-and-friends up to three people
-Over three people, an additional $10 per person
-Scholarships available for those in need

May 5 and 12 workshops: 1-3 p.m.
May 19 dress rehearsal: Time TBA (Early afternoon)
May 19 performance: 4 p.m
