Do you have a vision for a LGBTQ or community-based project? Is there an idea for an event, conference, campaign, or workshop that you want to carry out by yourself? As part of LGBTQ community, we are often placed in leadership positions where we have to create innovated projects that support our community with very limited resources, along with having to deal with external barriers. Whether you are part of an institution, starting your own project solo or with a team, you will need a few tools up your sleeve to successfully carry it out. From finding funding and spaces, to building effective teams, to developing communication and DIY skills, come learn the project management tools and skills needed to carry out an idea from start to finish.
Robbie is a trans artist, activist, and professional speaker. He is currently the Project Manager for the update of PRIM3D: a sexual health resource for queer trans masculine, trans men and non-binary people. His previous community work includes running support programs and campaigns for racialized youth at Alliance for South Asian AIDS Prevention (ASAAP) and sitting on the board of directors for an ethno-cultural mental health organization. He was a spokesperson for Toronto4All campaign for racialized trans youth and a co-organizer with WAYF (Where are you from collective), an arts activism program for pan-Asian youth.
