Join Voluminous Arts for a special graduation party edition of T4Tuesdays on Tuesday January 14th from 6pm-12am at The Bush, 333 Troutman St. Brooklyn, NY
T4Tuesdays is an ongoing experiment in transexualism and a degenerate transexual party 😈 popping up every second Tuesday of the month at The Bush Dyke Bar 🏋️♀️
What to expect? Transexuals and dykes from all realms, DJs, dance music, experimental performance, community organizing, skill-shares, workshops, cruising, and all the joy that comes with transsexuals taking over the dyke bar.
T4Tuesdays is back for 2025 and we're kicking of the year by celebrating Rayna and Ris both graduating from their Master's programs!
Before the party gets revved up, come meet us at open office hours starting at 6 where you can learn about the work our community is doing and get involved. It’s also a great time to co-work and/or organize with fellow trans people. Office hours is followed by skill shares at 8 where you can make friends, meet people and get ready to dance to the DJs of the expanding Voluminous Arts community.
This Tuesday we’ll have office hours from 6-8, come say hi 👋
Then from 8-9 Gavilán Rayna Russom and Ris Gumpert will present about some of their research work.
Talk 1: THE PANACEA DOES NOT EXIST
Ris will be celebrating his liberation from grad school by discussing liberation psychology, how it differs from “traditional” “western” psychology and how the imperfect process of individual wellbeing contributes to that of the collective.
Talk 2: Kink as Healing and Connection in NYC's Trans Communities
Rayna will be presenting the talk she gave to the American Folklore Society Annual Meeting in November of last year exploring some of the ways that kink functions as a folkloric and knowledge creation practice for some trans people in New York.
The party fully goes off starting at 9 with DJ sets from sa_phne and of course our beloved resident DJ Sodomahigmorra for dancing, cruising, vibing, and listening pleasure and to celebrate the new grads 🎓🎓
Toolbox Collective will be joining us all night to distribute free harm reduction and safer sex supplies as well as KN95 masks.
Voluminous Arts is a cultural organization with a vision to build a community center for trans people in New York City. A suggested $10 donation helps support Voluminous Arts’ ongoing operations as we build our vision, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
