Psychogeography is an exploration of urban environments that emphasizes playfulness, drifting, and anything that jolts pedestrians into a new awareness of the urban landscape. We're interested in exploring this theme as a framework for technology and digital platforms that build resilient communities and businesses that can withstand the forces of gentrification. Looking at the city from the lens of its locals and its creative population, what new opportunities can we uncover for building connections that empower cultural change, collective action, and the local economy?
The salon will feature presentations from experimental entrepreneurs approaching urban innovation from various disciplines ranging from ethnomusicology to local government, ridesharing to interactive mapping.
The gathering will be hosted at Thoughtworks, a community of passionate individuals whose purpose is to revolutionize software design, creation, and delivery while advocating for positive social change.
