Description
In this workshop, you will learn how to use automation to create musicality in your mix, focusing on creating compelling transitions for popular, electronic-based music.
Resident teaching artist Kate Siefker will demonstrate how to transition smoothly from pre-chorus to chorus to verse and other parts of a song, and how automation and arrangement can help make these transitions seamless and engaging.
Using Ableton Live, Kate will cover the basics of automation and teach you how to create builds, drops, and other dynamic changes in your mix. Together, we will also look at how automation can be used to create tension and release.
During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to apply what you've learned with a hands-on exercise. You can either work with a session that we provide or bring your personal work to apply the techniques. Kate will be on hand to offer guidance and support.
This workshop is suitable for those with basic knowledge of Ableton Live.
Please note: ticket registration closes 30 minutes prior to event start time.
