A curated screening of real 16mm film shorts! Two sets of approximately 45 min. each with a bar break intermission.
Including:
- A mesmerizing silent film by steel sculptor Richard Serra from 1976: "Railroad Turnbridge". A gentle ballet of mass.
- A retrosexual psychedelic tour de force animation by Suzan Pitt: "Asparagus". Sharp detail with great color, from the Pratt Library.
- "Keen Machines": learn physics by singing. It really works!
- (actually) "The First Color Film of Planet Earth". This beautiful 1967 relic from NASA - shot from orbiting satellites - can make you feel both alone and one with everything.
- "Closed Mondays": Art gallery shenanigans on the wrong day of the week. Both silly and disturbing.
- The ultimate absurdist foodie film: "Green Eggs and Ham". 1973, Dr. Seuss on the Loose.
Bob and Teresa will adorn these and other selections with bits of their film oddities: trailers, fragments, and shorties!
Films start at dark (around 8pm), but the Current Space Garden Bar is open starting at 5, with happy hour from 5-7pm.
