CHAiA (NYC) performs house and techno incorporating samples from traditional Yiddish music. In this workshop, she’ll go over different ways she samples traditional music including:
Using Roland’s SP-404 as a sampler
Using Roland’s TB-303
Using pedals and contact mics with traditional instruments
Isolating components of traditional music/working in historical context
This workshop is for all levels of experience with sampling and gear. Great for those of any cultural background looking to bring in elements into their music, or just for curious folks :)
