"Superimpose" Reception

Brooklyn, New York
$2.40 - $6.63 (includes all fees)

PARADICE PALASE is pleased to present SUPERIMPOSE, the project’s first curatorial endeavour of 2020. The show focuses on four emerging photographers who are shifting our perception of the photographic print.

Flatness and 2D surface are often associations we have with photography. However, layered surfaces more accurately translate the memories and histories captured by the medium. Prints presented as bodies or objects are a better reflection of their own subjects. Deviating from the path of camera to subject to film/file to print, the artists in "Superimpose" instead utilize the medium conceptually as a way to capture fleeting moments or document subjects. Through processes of manipulation, the fragility and fluidity of experience is made apparent.

*Due to COVID-19 concerns, our opening reception has been moved to March 28th, 6-9pm. In support of small businesses and creative projects, consider giving $5 when you RSVP to help keep the PALASE dream alive!
