Nicki Chen - (https://www.instagram.com/viola.wav/)

Hello friend. Music is my homing signal, reaching out to old souls and those ready to look within. This is my way of finding soulmates. I’m a violist that uses improvisation to embrace instability and search for forgotten experiences and hidden energy. I invite the audience to join me in surrendering to the process of peeling back armor to reveal raw emotions without fear of judgment or imperfection.

Mattie Barbier - (https://mattiebarbier.com)

Mattie Barbier is an LA based musician and sonic researcher focused on experimental intonation, noise, and the physical processes of their instrument. Their playing has been described by the LA Times as being "of intense, brilliant, virtuosic growling that gave the striking impression that Barbier was dismantling the instrument while playing it," by the Wire as “exploring the nooks of instrumental tone far beyond the reach of most mortals,” and by the New Yorker as being a "diabolically inventive trombonist-composer."

Nicholas Deyoe (https://www.nicholasdeyoe.com)

Nicholas Deyoe is a Los Angeles based guitarist, composer, and conductor. He is a co-founder of wasteLAnd ensemble and concert series and is a member of the dark-ambient electric guitar duo KillDry with Jay Sorce. His music has been called “intriguingly complex and excitedly lush” by the LA Times. The New York Times wrote that Deyoe’s a new(er) anxiety “contrasted filigree lightness and explosive loudness…without seeming to strain for effect.” Drawn to sounds that are inherently physical, Nicholas strives to create music that engages listeners intellectually and emotionally by appealing to their inner physicality. His music combines the use of noise, delicacy, drama, fantasy, brutality, lyricism, and joy to create a diverse sonic experience. As a guitarist, Nicholas strives to further the already vast sound world of the electric guitar by experimenting with microtonal tunings, non-conventional instruments, preparations, bows, beer cans, and lots and lots of pedals.
